Serve this mouth-watering, finger-licking Nethili Meen Kulambu with rice and fish fry.

  1. Clean the fish and keep aside.

  2. In a large wok, heat oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and fenugreek.

  3. Once they sputter, add curry leaves and garlic and saute.

  4. Now add the shallots and saute.

  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and saute.

  6. Put in all the masala powders and salt.

  7. Add a little water and cook for sometime.

  8. Allow the mixture to boil and then add the tamarind pulp.

  9. Pour in a cup of water.

  10. Allow the mixture to boil for 5 - 10 minutes.

  11. When the curry is still boiling, add the fish.

  12. Add all the fish and cook for 5 minutes.

  13. Allow the curry to boil until the fish is cooked and curry is of desired consistency. Boil for a few more minutes or add water to adjust the consistency.

  14. Finally add a teaspoon of gingeley oil and transfer to a serving dish.

  15. Serve this mouth-watering Nethili Fish Curry with rice.
