Made from fermented maida batter that is deep fried and soaked in sugar syrup.

  1. Mix maida and curd. Add water and make a thick batter. Allow to ferment over night.

  2. Boil sugar with 1/4th cup of water on a medium flame until all the sugar dissolves. Add a pinch of yellow food color.

  3. Keep boiling until you reach 1 string consistency. Take care not to burn your fingers as the syrup will be very hot.

  4. Mix the fermented batter and pour into a piping bag with a round tip nozzle. You can also use a clean cloth, make a small hole and then fill with the batter. Add a pinch of color to the batter if desired.

  5. Meanwhile heat oil in a flat broad pan. Seueeze the batter to form small circles.

  6. Fry for sometime. Do not over cook.

  7. Now soak the fried jalebis in the sugar syrup for 3 - 5 minutes.

  8. Transfer to plate. Allow to stand for 5 minutes and then serve. These Jalebis tastes best when served warm.
