There are a lot of style in which the tomato soup can be made and this is a simple one. It is made using flour and milk that gives a smooth texture and creamy flavor to the soup. The tomato soup can be served as such or topped with cream or toasted bread (croutons).

  1. Wash the tomatoes and make small slits on the skin of the tomatoes using a sharp knife. Drop them in boiling water and let it boil for 5 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and drop the tomatoes in cold water. The skin will come off easily. Peel off the skin.

  3. Grind the tomatoes in a mixer into a fine paste.

  4. Heat a kadai and add the flour.

  5. Saute for a minute on low flame.

  6. Now gradually add the milk and keep whisking to make a smooth paste. Make sure there are no lumps.

  7. Add four cups of water (you can use the water use for boiling the tomatoes) and let the mixture boil on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally.

  8. Now add the tomato paste and tomato ketchup and mix well.

  9. Add salt to taste, oregano and pepper and let the soup boil for a few more minutes.

  10. Serve it hot.
