Serve this Spicy Chicken Biriyani with Onion raitha.

Ingredients

  1. Mix curd, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala and ginger garlic paste.

  2. Mix well and add the chicken pieces. Marinate for 30 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile wash and soak the Basmati rice for 10 minutes.

  4. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add the bay leaf, cloves, cardamon, star anise, black jeera and cinnamon.

  5. Now add the green chillies and cover the cooker as the chiilies may sputter.

  6. Now add the chopped onions and saute.

  7. Add the ginger paste and saute.

  8. After sometime add the mint leaves and saute.

  9. Now add the tomatoes and saute.

  10. Now add the marinade.

  11. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or 1 whistle to cook the chicken.

  12. When the pressure subsides, open the cooker and add 1 and a 1/2 cups of water.
  13. When the water boils, add the soaked rice and the essence.

  14. When the mixture boils, cover the pressure cooker.

  15. Cook for 5 minutes or 1 whistle.

  16. Once the pressure subsides, open and add a tablespoon of ghee.

  17. Now mix a pinch of the red food color in a teaspoon of water.
  18. Drop this mixture randomly over the biryani.

  19. Carefully mix the rice with a long laddle.

  20. Now your spicy and tasty Chicken Biryani is ready to be served.

      Rakhee… it was the ready made one… you can use either Aachi, Sakthi masala or MTR.
