We are all familiar with the famous Mysore Pak and this Besan Nuts Burfi is a slight variation to the most-loved Mysore Pak. It is a combination of Besan and nuts and is also very simple to make. This sweet can be made beforehand and stored in air-tight containers for about a week. The sweet requires very less ghee and nuts and is one of the most economical one to make for Diwali.

  1. Soak the nuts in water for a few minutes.

  2. Blanch the almonds and grind it along with the cashew nuts into a fine paste.

  3. Heat a kadai and add the besan and saute till you get a nice aroma and the besan turns light brown in color.

  4. Remove from fire and transfer to a plate.

  5. To a pan add sugar and just enough water to cover it.

  6. Allow it to boil till you get a one-string consistency. Remove from fire and keep aside.

  7. Heat a tablespoon of ghee in a kadai and add the nuts paste.

  8. Saute till the ghee separates.

  9. Now add the roasted Besan and mix till the mixture resembles a crumble.

  10. Mix well till there are no big lumps.

  11. Add the sugar syrup and continue to mix well.

  12. The mixture will blend well together and form a nice soft dough.

  13. Transfer to a greased plate and let it cool for a few minutes.

  14. Cut the sweet into desired shapes.

  15. Separate the pieces and let it cool completely.

  16. Now the tasty Besan nuts burfi is ready to be served. You can store these burfis in air-tight container for more than a week.
